


Troy Townsin is the Board Chair of A Million Acts of Love, where he helps guide the foundation’s mission to empower young changemakers. As the father of Felix, the founder, and Lexi, the inspiration behind the movement, Troy brings a deeply personal commitment to the work.
A storytelling-driven leader, he also brings more than two decades of experience as an award-winning author, publisher, radio columnist, and creative strategist, along with a lifelong belief that powerful stories can spark the kind of movement that leads to real action.
He has authored bestselling children’s books, hosted a long-running CBC Radio wine column, and is a co-founder and board member of the Cure Blau Syndrome Foundation, where his work has helped fuel research, global collaboration, and rare-disease awareness.
He might chair a board, but Troy is equally in his element on a skateboard. He tries to keep joy and youthful energy at the heart of everything he does.
With over two decades of expertise in leadership development and human
resources, Meredith Campbell-Jess is a seasoned facilitator, trusted HR professional, and
leadership coach. She specializes in working with managers, executives, emerging leaders, and teams to ignite transformative change and build strong, collaborative workplaces.
Meredith is the founder and principal of Elements Coaching and also partners with organizations as an HR Associate with TallSky Consulting Group and a Group/Team Coach with BestHuman. Across these roles, she helps organizations strengthen culture, develop leadership capacity, and foster high-performing teams. Known for her engaging and interactive style, she creates environments that spark creativity, build trust, and drive meaningful results.
In addition to her professional practice, Meredith brings extensive board and community
leadership experience. She has served as a Board Member at Arbutus Grove Children’s Centre and as a long-term Board Member (15+ years) of the Saanich Fusion Football Club, where she held leadership roles as Vice President and Youth Coordinator. For more than a decade, she also co-led Anneswer to Cancer community fundraiser in support of Victoria Hospice, raising awareness and funds for end-of-life care.

Executive Coaching from Royal Roads University. She is Dare to Lead™ trained, an Associate
Certified Coach (ACC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF), a Chartered

Michael Strang, CPA (CA), MBA, PMP
Michael is an accomplished finance professional with more than 15 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, strategic planning, and project management. He has successfully developed and overseen budgets and governance frameworks in the non-profit and higher education sectors. Michael excels at developing robust financial plans and ensuring sound fiscal stewardship. Michael is passionate about advancing community-focused initiatives and brings a strong commitment to transparency, accountability, and collaborative problem-solving. As Treasurer for A Million Acts of Love, Michael will leverage his expertise in budgeting, financial stewardship, and governance to ensure resources are managed responsibly and its mission is sustained for lasting impact.
Liz Luxton, is the Director of Distribution Learning at Combined Insurance a Chubb Company. She empowers the development of leaders, teams, organizations, and clients through a holistic and experiential coaching and learning approach that impacts their professional growth for years to come. Liz is responsible for impacting top line sales results through initial licensing support, sales training support and the ongoing coaching of independent sales representatives, independent leaders, and staff sales leadership.
In her previous work experience, Liz has held leadership roles in operations, human resources and learning and development in various industries such as; financial institutions, tele-communications and eye care health centered companies.
Liz is fully bilingual and a graduate of Royal Roads University with a Master of Arts in Global Leadership, a Certified Coach and Facilitator of the Heart of Coaching program and holds a Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) designation and Human Performance Improvement certificate (HPI).
Tyler Knowlton is an accomplished strategic communications leader with over 15 years of multi-sector experience spanning provincial and federal government, private industry, startups, and NGOs. Fluent in English and French, he brings expertise in public relations, communications impact assessment, and multi-stakeholder partnership development to the Board of Directors.
Currently serving as Director of Communications, Communities, and Partnerships at AccuWeather, Tyler designs and implements corporate engagement and climate communication strategies that unite partners from academia, government, and community organizations. His leadership has been instrumental in developing national and international programs for public engagement, impact evaluation, and collaborative policy advocacy.
Tyler’s background includes directing communications and public engagement efforts for the Nova Scotia Provincial Government and consulting on diplomatic advocacy for Global Affairs Canada. He has guided major public consultations, managed award-winning teams, and advanced provincial standards for engagement and equity. Renowned for leveraging analytics and creative media, Tyler excels at strengthening organizational reputation, deepening stakeholder trust, and amplifying community impact.

Trish Glab is a seasoned post-secondary education professional with more than two decades of experience in admissions, student access, and academic policy. She currently serves as the Director of Admissions at Royal Roads University. Trish holds an undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies from York University and a graduate degree in Comparative Education from University College London, where her research focused on ethical internationalization.
Throughout her career, Trish has championed transparent decision-making and equitable pathways for learners, bringing a strong commitment to fairness, inclusion, and student-centered practice. In addition to her work in higher education, she has illustrated the Canadian Monster Club children’s book series and worked as a wedding and portrait photographer, reflecting her dedication to creative expression and community storytelling.
Trish is passionate about fostering opportunities for youth and advancing initiatives that build inclusive, supportive, and connected communities.
April is an artist and researcher exploring how communities can make room for difference—with curiosity, courage, and care. Her leadership and creative work bridge evaluation, policy, and artistic practice to reimagine inclusion across cultures and abilities.
Based in Alberta, she serves in a leadership role at a large children’s charity, where she coordinates program evaluation for initiatives supporting families from more than 72 countries and their neurodivergent children. Alongside this work, she contributes to several local research groups advancing policy change for meaningful inclusion across the education and arts sectors.
April holds an MA in Global Leadership from Royal Roads University, where her studies focused on community development in a global context. An accomplished photographer and theatre artist, she has long been driven by a desire to make the world more just and imaginative. Her practice centers on creating space for neurodivergence, linguistic and cultural diversity, queerness, and other forms of social difference that enrich society.
April is guided by a deep faith in people and a belief that each individual is exceptional because of their differences, not in spite of them.
Nicole Patey, BCOM, MA, CPHR
Nicole is a senior People & Culture leader with more than 20 years of cross-sector experience in energy, technology, public service, higher education, and marketing. She is recognized for driving organizational transformation, advancing inclusive workplaces, and building scalable human capital and leadership strategies.
Her career spans leadership roles at ENMAX, SAIT, and the BC Public Service, alongside earlier experience in consumer marketing with Nintendo of Canada and international Advertising Agencies in London, England. This blend of human resources and marketing expertise has given her a unique perspective on organizational culture, brand, and employee experience—enabling her to design innovative people strategies and successfully lead large-scale change.
Nicole is a lifelong learner and holds a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (Leadership & Organizational Effectiveness), multiple graduate-level credentials in HR and project management, and is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) and an active member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
