Changemaker Program

Do what you love. Make an impact. Get credit for it.

The A Million Acts of Love Changemaker Program is a free virtual program for people ages 12 to 30 across Canada who want to make a difference, build real-world experience or bring an idea to life.

Volunteer with a cause you care about, turn your interests into your own Changemaker Project or get recognition for work you’re already doing. Along the way, you can build leadership experience, grow your network, create a portfolio of your impact and access mentorship, funding and other opportunities.

Eligible participants who complete 100 verified service hours through the A Million Acts of Love Changemaker Program may apply for A Million Acts of Love micro-grants and, where applicable, for select travel subsidies and related benefits administered through GLOCAL’s National Youth Service Network framework. 

Time Commitment

The program is flexible, self directed and designed to fit around school, work and other commitments. Participants complete up to 100 hours at their own pace.

Getting started

This includes completing the intake form, orientation, program materials, check ins, tracking your hours and sharing feedback as part of the pilot cohort.

Flexible and personalized

The rest of your hours can come from:

• launching your own project
• volunteering in your school or community
• leadership roles
• tutoring or mentoring
• learning, planning, researching, creating and contributing

• activities and events that are part of A Million Acts of Love programming

Participants registered in the Changemaker Program may be eligible to apply for A Million Acts of Love micro grants.

School Credit

High school students in participating schools in Canada may use the Changemaker Program to earn Grade 12 credit, subject to school approval.
